Orange Blossom: The hives are kept in the Orange Grove and the honey has a very distinctive and sweet flavor. Many people will use the Orange Blossom honey in cooking as a natural sweetener and flavor enhancer for hot teas as well as cold beverages. Saw Palmetto: Our Saw Palmetto honey hives are kept in the very back section of the ranch in the natural woody area. The Saw Palmetto is a plant native to Florida, also known as Serenoa Repens. The Saw Palmetto has many health benefits ranging from treating arthritis, urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate gland, chronic pelvic pain, bladder disorders, low libido, hair loss, and hormonal imbalances. The honey is sweet, tasty, and considered to be one of the more favorite flavors.
Wild Flower: The Wild Flower honey hives are kept in a variety of locations throughout the ranch.This honey is made from a blend of the plants and flowers that bloom in the spring and summer months, therefor it is a wonderful aid in battling common allergies. Wild flower honey has been used as a natural and safe alternative to chemically made allergy medicines for years. Many people will take a tablespoon or more each day to prevent allergic reactions to flowers, plants, and trees.
Gallberry Honey: Gallberry Honey hives are kept in various areas throughout the 2500 acre ranch. The honey is made from the blooms of two similar shrubs in the Holly family which typically bloom just after the orange blossoms are present. The plants are an important source of nectar for Bee Keepers when making a mild flavored, light colored honey, especially in Florida. This honey is naturally low in sucrose and is used by many athletes as a recovery food. It is also know to have seasonal allergy benefits. Gallberry Honey has a very pleasant floral flavor with faint smokey notes
Bee Pollen: What is Bee Pollen? Pollen is the male seed of flowers. It is required for the fertilization of the plant. The tiny particles consist of 50/1000 millimeter corpuscles, formed at the free end of the stamen in the heart of the blossom. Every variety of flower puts forth a dusting of pollen. Bee pollen is the food of the young bee and it is approximately 40% protein. It is considered on the natures most completely nourishing foods. It contains nearly all the nutrients required by humans and about half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be used by the body. Such highly assimilable protein can contribute significantly to ones protein needs.
How to take bee pollen: Some people mix Bee Pollen granules into cereal, granola, or sprinkle it on salad, yogurt, soup, or applesauce.
